On March 23, the third round match between Eastern League regular season and Chiba Lotte and Saitama Seibu in Lotte Urawa Baseball Stadium ended in an 8-8 draw.

Chiba Lotte starter pitcher Summons allowed infield hit in the top hitter of the first inning, but struck out the next three straight struck out batters to start the inning. But in the top of the second inning, Takayoshi Yamamura hit a solo shot to No. 1, followed by Seiya Matsubara with a triple and a Seiya Watanabe. The relievers came on in the middle of the fifth inning and retired three batters Fuki Tanaka pitcher, and Hirokazu Sawamura pitcher struck out three batters in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 3-2.

​Ryota Nakamura pitcher took the mound in the seventh inning. They got through the top of the seventh with one hit and no runs, but in the top of the eighth, with runners on first and second with one out in the hit, they gave up three runs on an RBI doble by Matsubara and an error by Ken Watanabe on an error sacrifice fly to make the score 5-3. In the bottom of the eighth, Ikeda led off with a Walk to load the bases and tied the game on Yamaguchi's two-run single. In the second inning from the ninth inning, Toshiya Nakamura pitcher closer to runs.

A extra inning match played in a tie-break. Akira Yagi pitcher entered the game in the top of the 11th inning and gave up a two-run triple to Montel with runners on second​ and third with one out on Hit by Pitch and stolen base. Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the 11th inning, with one out, substitute hitter Kazuki Fujita hit put runners on first and third, and substitute hitters Masami Ishigaki and Aito tied the game at 7-7 in the 12th inning.

In the top of the 12th inning, pitcher Yagi singled to load the bases with one out and the bases loaded with squeeze runs. Then, in the bottom of the 12th inning, with one out and one out on a Walk single, Yuta Kaneda tied the game on a sacrifice fly by a basesman. He hit and a fielder's choice put runners on second and third with two outs, but the game ended 8-8 with no runs scored.

Chiba Lotte pitcher allowed Summons to go 4.0 innings with 75 pitches hit Hit by Pitch 7 strike out 2 runs. Yamaguchi had three RBI, including a two-run blast, while No. 2 draft pick rookie Miyazaki had a two-RBI hit and Yamamoto had a two-hit shot.

Saitama Seibu, on the other hand, started Ryota Itokawa pitcher 5.1 innings on 90 pitches, hit 3 Hit by Pitch 5 strike out 3 runs. Taishi Mameda pitcher tied the game with a two-run blast in the bottom of the eighth to force a tiebreaker. Matsubara scored 3 hit 1 RBI and Kakeru Yamanobe scored 3 hit 1 Hit by Pitch 2 stolen base.
