On 28 March, the first round match between Saitama Seibu and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham was played in Belluna Dome, where Hokkaido Nippon-Ham win 2-0.

​Hokkaido Nippon-Ham starter Shoma Kanemura pitcher got off to a perfect start, going hit the first three innings without closer. He allowed his first hit in the fourth inning, but didn't give up a run and pitched tenaciously. In the bottom of the fifth, he was pinch-hit with two outs and the bases loaded runs Wait for your allies to help.

In the top of the seventh inning, the Yankees responded with a leadoff single to Kotaro Kiyomiya to lead off the inning. They added one more run in the top of the ninth on Reyes hit a solo shot in the first. Kanemura pitcher didn't crumble after the seventh inning when his teammates scored, and he didn't runs in the eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, he moved up to mound and closer a runs despite being hit by a hit.

The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham that win was pitcher Kanemura for his first professional complete game and first shutout game. It was a big role in the opening pitcher and he did his best. Reyes led the batting line with 2 hit 1 Home Run and Yua Tamiya with 2 hit.

On the other hand, Saitama Seibu starter Tatsuya Imai pitcher threw 6 hit no walks Hit by Pitch 3 strike out 2 runs on 105 pitches in the ninth inning without any lose batting support. In the batting lineup, Manaya Nishikawa had three hit and two hit, including Seiya Watanabe 's first hit as a pro.
