Saitama Seibu to sell "Takahashi Apple Orchard's Apple Cut Cake" and "Tonozaki Apple Orchard's Apple Baumkuchen" from the opening game
Starting on Friday, March 28th, the day of the Saitama Seibu home opening game, the Lions will be selling two types of sweets made with apples grown at the apple orchard owned pitcher Mitsunari Takahashi and player Shuta Tonosaki 's family.
Last season, the team sold madeleines made with a blend of apples from the two players' family homes. Due to their popularity, they sold out early, leading to the decision to sell the product again this year.
The apples from pitcher Mitsunari Takahashi's family home are known for their beautiful appearance, thin skin and good texture. To enjoy the crunchy texture, cut apples are baked inside a pound cake, and sold as "Takahashi Apple Farm's Apple Cut Cake" for 1,900 yen (tax included) for a box of seven.
On the other hand, the apples from Tonosaki's family home are full of nectar and have a rich flavor. In order to enjoy the apple flavor, the apple juice is made into apple juice, which is then kneaded into the baumkuchen dough and baked. The "Tonosaki Apple Orchard Apple Baumkuchen," which combines the moist texture of baumkuchen with the flavor of apples, is priced at 1,980 yen (tax included) for a box of six.

Both products will be on sale at the The Lions Team Store Flags in the Belluna Dome area from Hokkaido Nippon-Ham game on Friday, March 28th. Each product package has a photo of a player printed on it, and when the two product packages are put together, they look like a double-page notebook. They are perfect as souvenirs or gifts for watching a game.
▼ Comments from Tonosaki
"Last year, the sweets were a mix of apples from Mitsunari's parents' home and my parents' home, but this year, we're making sweets that make use of the characteristics of each apple, so please enjoy the flavor and taste of the apples from my parents' home in the Baumkuchen! Apple juice is good, but I'd be happy if you could also buy the Baumkuchen."
