Saitama Seibu will be holding an event in collaboration with the manga and anime "Jungle Emperor" during their game against Chiba Lotte Marines on Saturday, September 6th during the "The Lions 75th Anniversary Series."
"Jungle Emperor" is a representative work by manga artist Osamu Tezuka, creator of Saitama Seibu 's official mascots Leo and Lina. Set in the jungles of Africa, the story depicts the relationship between nature and humans through the growth of Leo, a white lion cub raised by humans. Tezuka lived along Seibu Ikebukuro Line during his lifetime, and in 1979, when the team joined Pacific League, Tezuka designed Leo as the team mascot, which is still used today as the team flag and Leo mark.
This collaboration was realized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of The Lions naming and the 60th anniversary of the broadcast of the anime "Jungle Emperor." On the day, a 15cm tall Leo figure (The Lions 75th anniversary jersey version) will be distributed to all attendees (excluding certain seats), and in commemoration of The Lions 75th anniversary, 75 limited edition golden "Golden Leos" will be given away at random.
Tickets for the event from Friday, September 5th, including the day itself, will go on sale sequentially starting with a fan club advance lottery on Friday, July 4th. General sales will begin on Monday, the 14th.
▼Comment from Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd.▼
