Orix 's Ryo Ota recorded 39 hit in a month, tying him for the most hits right-handed hitter on the team.

Ota, who had 38 hits out of 90 At Bat hit and a batting average of .422 in 23 games in April, came to bat for the second time in the bottom of the third inning with one out and runners on second and third. With count at 2-1, he hit the fourth pitch from the opposing starting pitcher, Atsuki Taneichi, splitter that dropped low and in the middle, to center fielder.

With this hit, he tied the record of 39 hit in a month set by right-handed hitter on the team, set by Boomer in April 1984 and Yoshitomo Tani in September 2003. If he had gotten one more hit, he would have broken the record, but he failed to get hit in his third and fourth at-bats.
