On 3 April, Western League regular season Orix vs. Kufu HAYATE Shizuoka 5th round match in Sugimotoshoji Buffaloes Stadium Maishima ended in a 3-2 comeback walk-off win by Orix.
Starter Daiki Tajima pitcher allowed hit to lead off the hitter in the top of the third inning, but got the runner on second base with one out to end the inning on two grounders to infield. After that, he didn't allow his opponent to hit back-to-back hits, and pitched well in four innings, going 3 hit Hit by Pitch 3 strike out no runs. The second-place finisher, Ren Mukunoki pitcher, was a three-way tie, including a two-struck out.
With both teams scoreless in the top of the eighth, Kohei Azuma pitcher hit back-to-back singles with one out to make it runs two. On the other hand, the bats were scoreless until the seventh inning before Kufu HAYATE Shizuoka starter Ryota Okuda pitcher. But in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs and bases loaded on the third Walk, the Yankees tied the game on a two-run single by Tomoya Noguchi. Jo Endo followed with another chance with an RBI single to left field walk-off Orix win.
