On 13 May, the ninth round match between Tohoku Rakuten and Chiba Lotte was played in Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi, where Tohoku Rakuten win 4-3.

In the first inning, Kohiro Komori singled to load the bases with a Walk and Ryosuke Tatsumi led off the inning with a two-run single. Starting pitcher Kosei Shoji pitcher gave up two runs, including a solo shot by Daito Yamamoto in the top of the third inning and a sacrifice fly by Ryusei Terachi in the top of the fourth. However, in the bottom of the fourth, just after the score was tied, Hiroto Kobukata regained the lead on an RBI single.

Shoji pitcher left the game with a 5 hit 5 strike out 2 runs in the fifth, and Takahiro Norimoto pitcher came on in the top of the sixth, but was hit by Soto's No. 4 solo. After that, the relievers connected runs and in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied 3-3, with one out and the bases loaded, Yoshiaki Watanabe came to bat. He drove the third pitch to left field for a walk-off win on a sacrifice fly to end the losing streak at 4. Naoto Nishiguchi pitcher won for the first time in three years.

In the loss, Chiba Lotte starter Kazuya Ojima pitcher went 5 hit 3 Walk 6 strike out 3 runs seven innings. Yamamoto scored three runs, including his first run in 32 inning on a Home Run, but it wasn't enough.
