Hokkaido Nippon-Ham took the lead with three points in the top of the fourth inning.

First up in the inning was Kazunari Ishii, who got on base with hit. Reyes and Yuya Gunji then walked, creating a great opportunity with Walk loaded and no bases loaded. Kotaro Kiyomiya then grounded out to first base, bringing home a runner, giving the team a run. Yua Tamiya then added sacrifice fly to score the second run.

​Chusei Mannami then hit to extend the lead. With two outs and runners on first and third, Kota Yazawa broke his bat but still hit a timely doble to right field, giving the team a three-run lead in the inning.
