On July 1, Shinrindori Stadium Izumi played in in the Eastern League regular season 12th round match between Tohoku Rakuten and Chiba Lotte, 8-6 in the Chiba Lotte win.

Chiba Lotte had a chance to bases loaded with no outs in the first inning and scored two runs between Walk and double play singles. In the top of the second inning, Katsuya Kakunaka added another run on an RBI single. Kota Futaki pitcher, the starter, got off to a good start with three strikeouts in the first and second innings. He gave up one run on a grounder in the bottom of the third, but pitch was able to close out the rest of the inning.

But in the bottom of the sixth, pitcher Futaki was pinch-hit with one out and bases loaded and was removed after an error and a sacrifice fly tied the game. Takahiro Nishimura pitcher, who replaced him, survived the ensuing pinch, but in the bottom of the seventh, with one out and bases loaded on an RBI single by Sotaro Nagata, he allowed two runs to score on an error. However, in the top of the eighth, they scored three runs on timely doble by Koshiro Wada and Acevedo to complete the comeback.

In the bottom of the eighth, Guerrero pitcher put the runner on his own and put the game back on with one out and sacrifice fly Kengo Horiuchi on third base to put the game back on track. The bottom of the ninth inning ended scoreless for both teams, and the game went into extra inning. After a scoreless start in the top of the 10th, Atsuya Hirohata pitcher closer the bottom of the 10th to runs.

In the top of the 11th inning, with no outs and bases loaded, Acevedo's sacrifice fly and a fielder's choice scored two runs. In the bottom of the 11th inning, pitcher Hirohata closed out the game and ended the game with an 8-6 lead. Starting pitcher pitcher Futaki threw 81 pitches in 5.2 innings, allowing 4 hit 2 Hit by Pitch 5 strike out 3 runs (earned runs 1). Wada scored a total of 8 hit 8 runs, including 2 hit 2 RBI to win the extra inning game.

In the loss, Tohoku Rakuten starter pitcher Gu Xie threw 118 pitches in seven innings hit Hit by Pitch 4 strike out 3 runs. They combined for 7 hit 6 runs scored, but fell short.
