On 7 May, Eastern League regular season and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham and Tokyo Yakult 8th round match at Kamagaya Stadium in The Fighters ended in a 1-2 loss to Hokkaido Nippon-Ham.

​Hokkaido Nippon-Ham starter Haruki Hosono pitcher got off to a good start, striking out three batters in the first inning on just seven pitches. In the top of the second inning, he gave up a solo shot to leadoff man Ren Sawai, but he didn't allow a hit after that, and in the third inning, he gave up a mound on 37 pitches hit 1 Hit by Pitch 2 strike out 1 runs. The second Ren Fukushima pitcher connects 1 inning with no runs.

In the bottom of the fourth, an error and a fielder’s choice loaded the bases with one out and runner scored on another error to tie the game. In the top of the fifth, Ryodai Matsumoto pitcher closer to a three-way tie, and in the top of the sixth, rookie Daiki Shimizu pitcher took the mound. Hit by Pitch With two outs and one out in the fourth, he was pinch-hit at second base, but got out of the jam with no runs.

In the top of the seventh, Haruki Miyauchi pitcher tied the game with three outs, but in the top of the eighth, Koki Matsuoka pitcher pinch-hit with two outs and stolen base on a Hit by Pitch and and allowed the winning run to score on an RBI infield hit by Yosho Tanaka. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shun Mizutani had a good chance on a doble, but it didn't lead to a run, and the game ended 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning. In this match, Dai Shimizu pitcher made his first appearance in regular season. He threw 17 pitches in the first inning hit Hit by Pitch two walks and no runs.
