On 5 April, the second round match between Fukuoka Softbank and Saitama Seibu was played in MIZUHO PayPay Dome, with Saitama Seibu defeating win 6-3.

The starter, Chihiro Sumida pitcher, was hit by a pitch in the first hitter with a doble, but struck out the rest of the way to runs the rest of the field. Saitama Seibu earned their first win of the season with starter pitcher Sumida going 5 hit 1 Walk 6 strike out 2 runs in seven innings. In the batting lineup, Tozaki and Seiya Watanabe scored 2 hit. Kiyoshi Watanabe has hit in six consecutive games since the start of the season.

​Fukuoka Softbank starter Tomohisa Ozeki pitcher, who suffered a three-game losing streak, went 2 hit 4 Hit by Pitch 2 strike out 2 runs in six innings. In the batting lineup, Zhou Dong scored 2 hit 2 RBI, but Hernandez miscalculated at second.
