Tohoku Rakuten 's Rui Muneyama Rui recorded his first professional hit and first RBI.

He was in the starting starting line-up as the second batter and short stop, and in the top of the ninth inning, with the team trailing by one point, he came up to bat for the fourth time with one out and a pitcher on third base. He hit the ball back, hitting change-up on the outside corner, which was the first pitch thrown by the opposing team's closer, Machado. The ball went through the gap between first and second base for an RBI hit to tie the game.

After competing with five teams, Soyama joined Tohoku Rakuten as the first draft pick. He showed his presence on both offense and defense during training camp and exhibition games, and was selected as a starter for the opening starting line-up. He has been showing his presence since his debut game.
