Seibu 's fall training camp, which aims to make a comeback from this season's fifth-place finish, began on the 30th at the team's facilities in Nango, Miyazaki and Tokorozawa, Saitama.
The theme for both the first and farm teams this fall is "physical training." At the team's facility in Tokorozawa, Saitama, fielder are already practicing in two groups: a "physical group" and a "balanced group," divided based on various numerical results such as muscle strength and batted ball speed. After lunch, a new initiative has been set aside for "nap time."
Manager Koseki of the farm team in charge of the Saitama Tokorozawa team said, "For fielder we are holding a different type of camp than usual. The important thing about the content is how each individual player approaches it. Even if we do the same physical training, I think how much each person can push themselves will vary," instructing the players to act with initiative and a desire to improve. The fall camp will run until November 17th.
