Rakuten announced that catcher Yuma Yasuda (25) underwent surgery to remove a stress fracture of the right hamate hook at a hospital in Tokyo on the 21st. It is expected to take 2 to 3 months for him to return to the game.
Yasuda injured his right hand when he hit a foul ball in his third at-bat in the sixth inning of the game against DeNA on the 14th.
