On 28 March, Saitama Seibu won the first round match between Saitama Seibu and The Giants in Eastern League regular season in CAR3219 Field, 4-0.

In the bottom of the third inning, with no outs and the bases loaded, Takayoshi Yamamura led off the inning with an RBI triple. Takumi Kuriyama followed with timely doble and Kishi and Montel followed with timely hits to take a four-run lead.

Rookie Hibiki Shinohara pitcher, the No. 5 pick in the draft, made his second start of the season and didn't allow a hit in the The Giants. He pitched five sporadic innings with 3 hit and 3 strike out Hit by Pitch no runs to earn his first professional win on the farm regular season.

From the sixth inning, Wataru Matsumoto pitcher went hit 1 Walk no runs pitch in the second inning. Taishi Mameda pitcher also closed out the game with a 1-hit 1-strike out runs in the first inning and Katsunori Hirai pitcher in the ninth to close out the game.
