On 4 March, the opening match between Yokohama DeNA and Chiba Lotte in Yokohama Stadium ended in a 2-5 loss to Chiba Lotte.

Chiba Lotte started with new signing Shuta Ishikawa pitcher. After allowing infield hit and 2 Walk with one out and bases loaded in the first inning, Yoshitomo Tsutsuka's RBI single and Toshiro Miyazaki's sacrifice fly allowed two runs to start the inning. In the top of the fourth inning, the leadoff hitter Daito Yamamoto walked on seven pitches before he reached Walk and Aito followed with a two-run single to tie the game. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Yuto Kimura pitcher, a second-year high school graduate, took the mound. He pressed hard with his fastballs and showed his potential with 24 pitches hit 1 strike out no runs in two innings. In the bottom of the sixth, Riku Kikuchi pitcher struck out back-to-back struck out to tie the game. Takahiro Nishimura pitcher, who entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, connected on a runs thanks to a strong play by second baseman Ryusei Miyazaki.
