◇ pitcher edition is here
Ryusei Terachi and Atsuki Tomosugi have the most appearances on the team.
This season was a season where the young players shined. Ryusei Terachi, a second-year high school graduate, played in 116 games, the most on the team. He started in the first team at the start of the season, and on April 4th against Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, he put on the catcher in starting line-up lineup for the first time this season. On the 18th, he hit two Home Run, including his first professional Home Run, against Tohoku Rakuten Eagles.
Terachi continued to produce steady results in the first team, batting fourth and hitting multiple hitter in the game against Fukuoka Softbank on July 17. Towards the end of the season, he mainly played as DH hit to discomfort in his right elbow, but he still made his presence felt with a batting average of .256, Home Run, and 33 RBI.
He is now in his third year. Atsuki Tomosugi In May, he hit 45 At Bat 14 hit with a batting average of .311, and on August 31, he made his first professional appearance Home Run against Fukuoka Softbank, but in the end, his batting average was only .230. He showed his characteristic solidity and helped his teammates on many occasions in his role as a shortstop defense. Next season, we expect him to improve his hitting reliability and play an active role offensively and defensively.
First-round draft pick Misho Nishikawa becomes the team's first fielder of the Year in 28 years
First-round draft pick Misho Nishikawa earned a spot in the starting starting line-up on the opening day, immediately recording his first professional hit and first RBI. His batting average dropped to the single digits in April and May, forcing him to adjust in the farm team, but in July and August he maintained a batting average above 30%. He also hit his first professional Home Run in a game against Tohoku Rakuten Eagles on July 30th. He continued to appear in starting line-up until the end of the season, reaching the required number of at-bats despite being a rookie. He led the batting lineup with a batting average of .281 and a league-leading 27 doble.
He also recorded the league's highest number of assists (9) as outfielder, and excelled on both offense and defense. He became the first fielder to win the Rookie of the Year award in 28 years since Makoto Kosaka in 1997.
Daito Yamamoto and Eito Takabe also performed well, hitting double-digit Home Run.
This season, he played in 107 games, a career high, in his fifth year. Daito Yamamoto Although he only played in five games for the first team last season, Yamamoto was highly anticipated for his power, winning both Home Run and batting titles in the Eastern Eastern League. He hit his first professional Home Run against Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters on April 16th, and then hit two consecutive Home Run in two at-bats against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows on June 15th and Orix Buffaloes on July 5th, totaling 10 Home Run in the first half of the season.
He was selected for the Mynavi All-Star Game 2025 for the first time through a plus-one vote, but struggled in the second half of the season with a batting average in the single digits in August and only one Home Run. Still, his 11 Home Run were second on the team. It can be said that he has emerged as a long-distance hitter.
Takabe Eito had a batting average of .286 in 111 games, and stolen base 20 bases, the most on the team. While he was sidelined midway through last season due to injury, this season, despite being in the minor leagues for training in July, he played in over 100 games for the first time in two years. His monthly batting average was over 30% from August onwards, and he showed particular improvement towards the end of the season. We look forward to seeing him continue to hit well in the top batting order next season, giving the team momentum.
Ryusei Ogawa also showed steady improvement. This season, he played in 87 games, fewer than last season (119 games), but he produced results even with fewer at-bats from June onwards. His batting average dropped to .192 in August, but he performed well in September and October, hit At Bat a .362 batting average. He finished the season with a .264 batting average.
A season in which mid-level and foreign players struggled
While young players such as Nishikawa and Teraji performed well, it was also a season in which the players who contributed to the team's entry into A class last season struggled.
Toshiya Sato who recorded a batting average of .278 last season, fourth in the league, and was named to the Best Nine for the first time, started as starting line-up in the opening game, but performed poorly with a batting average of .207 in 68 games. Shogo Nakamura, who had played in over 100 games for seven consecutive years, was also affected by a back injury and only played in 20 games this season.
Soto, in his second year after transferring to the team, led the team with 13 Home Run, but had a batting average of .230 in 102 games. This was disappointing compared to last season, when he played in 132 games (.269 batting average, Home Run). Polanco 's batting performance was not improving from the beginning. He underwent surgery on his right shoulder in late July and ended his season early with a batting average of .201 and Home Run in 39 games.
Manager Masahito Yoshii, who has been in charge for three years, will retire at the end of this season, and new manager Saburo will take over. Will he be able to strengthen the batting next season and bring a breath of fresh air to the team?
