On July 21st, in the farm team regular season between Tohoku Rakuten Eagles and Oisix Niigata, held at Shinrindori Stadium Izumi, Tohoku Rakuten Eagles suffered a close 4-5 defeat.

In the bottom of the second inning, Tohoku Rakuten Eagles 's leadoff hitter, Shion Otsubo, hit doble, and with two outs, Kazuki Tanaka hit an RBI triple to score the first run. In the bottom of the third inning, Yuya Ogo hit a solo home run to right-center field, his first of the season.

However, in the top of the 4th inning, starting pitcher Masaru Fujii allowed a bases loaded and two consecutive Walk with one out, loading hit, and Dai-Kang Yang hit a two-run single to tie the game. In the top of the 6th inning, he gave up a go-ahead solo home run to Keiji Konishi. With runners still on first and second with one out, Haruto Okawa hit an RBI single to make it 2-4.

Trailing in the game, Tohoku Rakuten Eagles narrowed the gap to one run in the bottom of the 7th inning with a timely hit by Taiga Shimahara. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Yukiya Ito got on base with hit, and with two outs, Tsubasa Yoshino hit a timely doble to tie the game at 4-4.

However, in the top of the 9th inning, pitcher Chiharu Tanaka gave up a go-ahead solo home run to Yoshihiro Taka. The Tohoku Rakuten Eagles batting lineup wanted to show some fighting spirit, but they closer in order in the bottom of the 9th inning and suffered a close defeat.

Tohoku Rakuten Eagles, who were defeated, saw their starting pitcher Fujii give up 8 hit, 4 Walk and 4 runs in 6 innings, failing to set up a good game. The offense fought hard, with Yoshino getting 2 hit 1 RBI, and Kyosuke Kaneko also getting 2 hit.
