On 28 March, the first round match between Orix and Tohoku Rakuten was played in Kyocera Dome, with Orix winning 3-2 and win. It was their first home opener in 15 years since 2010.

Orix will start Hiroya Miyagi pitcher, which will be his second consecutive Opening Day pitcher. He got off to a good start, striking out three batters in the first and second innings. They tied the game at one point in the ninth inning, but Sora Suzuki pitcher was hit by a pitch.
