Nippon-Ham 's new foreign pitcher Sauryn Lao (26), made his first bullpen appearance in Japan in Nago, Okinawa. With manager Shinjo watching, he threw 35 pitches, including all of his pitch types. "It was cold, but I was able to maintain a good pace towards the end. Whether it's bullpen or practice, as long as I'm holding the ball, I approach it with a competitive spirit," he nodded.

During the off-season, he has already pitched in live batting practice (batting practice in a real game setting) in his home country, the Dominican Republic, and said, "I've been able to pitch in a lot of real game settings, so I've been able to come to Japan in good shape. I want to be ready to play whenever I'm asked. I just want to play the role that the team needs me to play, so no matter what they say, I'm ready." Yu Shimizu, who received the ball, nodded several times and called out, "Nice ball," demonstrating how quickly he's getting ready.

The right-handed pitcher, who arrived in Japan on the 6th, is still suffering from jet lag and said, "I woke up at 2am again today and have been awake ever since, but I still need to make some adjustments (laughs). I'm not going to go to bed too early today, I'm going to go to bed a little later so I can sleep well until morning." He is gradually adapting to the jet lag.
