Due to the nature of our work, we often come into contact with people who are called stars on a daily basis. Professional baseball players are also a treasure trove of national stars. However, as a photographer, I take pictures of them as a matter of course, so I sometimes become numb to the value of it.

On April 19th of this year, before the game against Orix, the second installment of the Players Association's project "We'll make your dreams come true, presented by the Bs Players Association" was held. The book review of outfielder Yutaro Sugimoto 's autobiography "Until I Become Raoh: A Life of Revenge from the 10th Draft" was read aloud in front of him, and Takuto Tokumura and Miyu Furugori got to meet their idol, Sugimoto.

Both of them looked nervous, but Tokumura especially had been shaking even before he appeared. The moment they met, his emotions reached a peak. Tears spilled down his face and he burst into tears. Still, when he finished reading his impressions, Sugimoto hugged him tightly. Released from tension, the three of them posed for heaven with smiles on their faces.

The Sugimoto we are interviewing is loved so much and gives people so many dreams. It was an humbling experience. Behind the photos I take, there are so many fans. I always keep this in mind when I press the shutter. And Sugimoto, please stay strong and be the Raoh that children look up to. (Photo by Taniguchi Kenji)
