Fukuoka Softbank Hawks have announced that they will be holding auditions for The Hawks Performance Team for 2026. Auditions will be held in their home base of Fukuoka, as well as in Kumamoto and Taipei. The official dance and performance team, "Honeys," aims to transcend the boundaries of sports and provide entertainment that inspires, inspires, and inspires people, and is seeking new members who will liven up The Hawks with a bright, energetic spirit.

What kind of talent are they looking for as new members for the upcoming 2026 school year? We spoke with Mao Fujita of Fukuoka Softbank Hawks Marketing Planning Department, who has been active as a Honeys for five years since 2020, served as vice captain for two of those years, and is now in charge of operations from this year.

The "The Hawks Performance Team" is a collective term for performers who support The Hawks, including the official dance and performance team "Honeys," acrobatic performers, and the team's official mascots "Harry & Honey." They work to build bonds between The Hawks and their fans through a variety of entertainment, including dance performances at the stadium, TV and radio appearances, participation in local events, and official social media posts.
　
What kind of season was 2025 for Honeys, who are recruiting new members through this audition?

"We held member meetings once a month to discuss things together, and each member thought about what they could do to serve as a bridge between the players and the fans and to make the spectators who came to the stadium smile.Even when things didn't go well, the members, led by captain SHOKO, would encourage each other in a cheerful and energetic manner and help each other out, and I think the atmosphere was good," he recalled.

Auditions for 2026 members finally began on Tuesday, October 21st. What kind of talent are Honeys looking for in 2026?

"I try not to imagine a specific type of person. It would be great if there was at least one strength or personality that goes beyond the boundaries of our image, something that you can say with confidence that you are unbeatable in! I also think that in this job it is important to have an aura. An aura can come from gaining self-confidence, but it can also come from your posture and demeanor, so I want to make sure that the first impression I make at the audition is important."

Also, regarding the mindset you want to keep in mind when working as Honeys,

"I believe that your everyday actions will definitely affect your performance. Even when you're not performing in front of an audience, you should behave in a way that makes it clear that you're a Honeys member no matter where you are or who is watching you, such as by greeting and being considerate, and I want you to cherish being people who shine even when you're not in costume," she said.
