Rakuten announced on the 29th that 11 players from Ryuji Komago, Kazuto Tokuyama, Hayato Yuge, Tomotaka Matsui, Takuma Matsuda, Daichi Shibata, Satoshi Miyamori, Tsuyoshi Yamazaki, Haruka Yamada, Ginji Maeda and the developmental Sotaro Nagata will not sign contracts for the next season.
Miyamori joined Rakuten as the first pick in the 2021 development draft, and was registered as a regular player in his first year in 2022. From his first appearance on the mound, he pitched 22 consecutive runs games, and appeared in 26 games that year with a record of 1 win, 1 loss, 1 ERA 1.54. He has not been able to show his true potential since his second year, and this season he has pitched in 10 games with a lackluster ERA of 10.50.
The club also announced that it has approached Tokuyama, Matsuda, and Maeda with development player contracts.
