◆2025 Persol Climax Series Pacific Final Stage Game 6 Softbank 2-1 Nippon-Ham (20th, Mizuho PayPay Dome)
Softbank 's starting pitcher Moinelo, who took the mound after a four-day break, pitched well, allowing only three hit and one runs in seven innings, earning him the MVP award and leading his team to the Japan Series.
After the game, the left-handed pitcher attended a joint press conference and expressed a sense of accomplishment, saying, "I went into the game with the same mentality as usual. (Even though I was pitching with a four-day break) I didn't think too far ahead, I just took each inning one at a time, and I was pitching with the intention of keeping the ball low so that I could get ground balls. I'm glad I was able to get some good results."
Moinelo started the inning with one hit no runs allowed until the third inning. In the fourth inning, right after giving up the first run, Yazawa, the first batter, reached base with doble down the right field line, and with one out and a runner on second base, Gunji hit a timely doble down the left field line, tying the game.
Even so, he kept the score at zero from the fifth to the seventh innings and managed to get through with the fewest runs. He shut down the Nippon-Ham batting line-up, which was on a three-game winning streak, and analyzed the reason for his good pitching, saying, "My control was good overall." Looking ahead to the Japan Series, which begins on the 25th against Hanshin Tigers, he emphasized, "I want to keep my condition in order, and when it's my turn to pitch, I want to pitch well."
