◆2025 Persol Climax Series first baseman First Stage Game 2 Nippon-Ham 5-4 Orix (12th, Escon F)

Nippon-Ham came from behind to win two straight games, securing their place in the final stage of the CS for the second year in a row. Trailing by one run in the eighth inning, with two outs and runners on first and second, Reyes hit a two-run home run over the right field fence to take the lead. Following on from the previous day, Yukiya Saito closed out the ninth inning.

Saito, who showed perfect pitch, striking out three batters with 11 pitches the day before and eight pitches this time, shouted "This is the best!" in his hero interview, which elicited huge cheers. He overwhelmed the batters with fastballs approaching 160 km/h, but then added, "Honestly, the number of pitches doesn't matter anymore, all we want is to win. I think we all won together..." which drew laughter.

In the final stage of the CS, they will take on Pacific League champion Softbank at the Mizuho PayPay Dome. "I'm going to Fukuoka, so I'll definitely come back. Ace Combat, please wait for me. We'll definitely play the Japan Series here!" he vowed to the large crowd.
