Pacific League Lotte 3-0 Nippon-Ham (4th, Zozo Marine Stadium)
Nippon-Ham infielder Kotaro Kiyomiya failed to win his first title for most hit. He started as starting line-up hitter and first baseman and had two hit, bringing his total to 143, but was one short of Rakuten 's Murabayashi's 144 hit, who has one hit remaining. "I thought I might have a chance (in my fifth at-bat) if I'd played well at the end and tied the game, but I couldn't catch two balls that were easy for me to catch. I guess it can't be helped." Although he recorded a hit, he reflected on his defense mistakes at first base.
Even so, he played in 138 games, the most on the team, and posted a batting average of .272. "This kind of thing doesn't happen often, so I'm glad I was able to play for a whole year. I hope I can hit more, dominate, and win some kind of title next time." He has certainly grown as a key player on the team.
In his fourth at-bat with no outs in the eighth inning, he hit doble to left-center off left-hander Takano, and said, "I'm glad I was able to hit a good hit that felt like the culmination of this year." He seemed satisfied with the hit, which will lead to the postseason and next season.
