Shimauchi attended Seiryo High School and Meiji University before joining Rakuten as the sixth pick in the 2011 draft. In 2021, he won his first title with 96 RBI. The following year, in 2022, he hit 161 hit and became the player with the most hit. This season, he only hit. In the farm team, he had a batting average of .282 in 59 games.
