Four pitcher reached the required innings pitched and had ERA of 1.00.

Moinelo won the ERA ERA and there were four pitcher who pitched the required number of innings and had ERA in the single digits innings pitched. These figures combined make the 2025 season seem to be a stronger trend than usual for pitcher to hit well and hitters to hit well.

On the other hand, if we look at the batting performance of the league as a whole, a different trend emerges. In this article, we will take a deeper look at Pacific League this season by looking at the batting performance of the league as a whole and the top 10 rankings in the three major batting categories.

There is an upward trend in team batting average and hit across the league.

The overall batting performance of the six Pacific League teams in 2024 and 2025 is as follows:

In 2024, Fukuoka Softbank led the league with a team batting average of .259, while Chiba Lotte Marines, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham, and Tohoku Rakuten Eagles recorded numbers in the .240s. Orix ranked fifth in the league, also recorded a similar batting average of .238, but Saitama Seibu, ranked sixth, struggled with a batting average of .212.

This season, Fukuoka Softbank led the league with a batting average of .257, but the second-place Orix also rose to .255. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham, Tohoku Rakuten, and Chiba Lotte Marines Marines all recorded numbers in the .240s, and Saitama Seibu 's batting average also improved significantly from last year to .232.

Regarding hit, which are directly linked to batting average, in 2024 Fukuoka Softbank had 1,244, Saitama Seibu had 971, and the other four teams had hits in the 1,100s. However, in 2025, the number of teams with hits in the 1,200s increased to three, and the remaining three teams also recorded hits in the 1,100s. In addition, the number of hit in the league as a whole also increased significantly, from 6,844 to 7,124.

Similar trends were observed not only in hit but also in runs and Home Run runs.

In 2024, Fukuoka Softbank was the only team in the league to score over 600 points, followed by Hokkaido Nippon-Ham with 532 points, with three teams in the 400s and one team in the 300s. However, in 2025, three teams will score over 500 points, and the remaining three teams will also reach the 400s. Furthermore, the league's total points will increase from 2,876 points in 2024 to 2,898 points in 2025, showing an improvement in the league's overall points total.

In terms of Home Run numbers, Fukuoka Softbank and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham both hit over 110 home runs in 2024, three teams in the 70s, and one team in the 60s. In 2025, the number of teams hitting triple-digit Home Run increased, with Hokkaido Nippon-Ham hitting 129, Fukuoka Softbank and Orix hitting over 100, and Saitama Seibu hitting over 80, a significant increase of 20 Home Run from the previous year.

Chiba Lotte Marines and Tohoku Rakuten are also maintaining the same number of Home Run as last year, in the 70s, and the league's overall Home Run number is expected to increase by 50 from 503 in 2024 to 553 in 2025. Just like the number of hit and runs, the number Home Run is also on the rise across the league.

Looking at his individual performance, his batting average has improved compared to the previous year, but...

Next, let's take a look at the top 10 batting average players in Pacific League in 2024 and 2025, as well as each player's performance.

Only one hitter recorded a batting average of .300 or above in either season: Kensuke Kondo in 2024 and Taisei Makihara in 2025. There was also one player in each season who recorded a batting average in the .290s, but the number of hitter with a batting average of .280 or above increased significantly from one in 2024 to four in 2025.

Additionally, while five of the top 10 players in batting average had averages in the .260s in 2024, all of the top 10 players had averages in the .270s or higher in 2025. Even from the perspective of individual players, the results of the past two years also show that batting averages are improving overall.

Next, we will introduce the top 10 Home Run rankings in Pacific League for 2024 and 2025, as well as each player's performance.

There is not much difference between the league's top players in Home Run, with Hotaka Yamakawa winning the home run title in 2024 with 34 and Reyes winning the same title in 2025 with 32. However, there is a slight difference in the number of players who hit 20 or more Home Run, with four players in 2024 and three in 2025.

And while there were four players who hit 15 Home Run more but less than 20 Home Run in 2024, Voit was the only player who hit 15 Home Run more but less than 20 Home Run in 2025. This suggests that in 2025 there was a slight downward trend in terms of the number of Home Run hit by players in the top 10 of the league.

Finally, let's take a look at the top 10 RBI rankings in Pacific League for 2024 and 2025, and each player's performance.

The numbers of the league's top players were slightly lower, with Yamakawa, the 2024 RBI leader, having 99 RBI, and Reyes, who won the same title in 2025, having 90 RBI. Furthermore, while there were four players with 70 or more RBI in 2024, Kotaro Kiyomiya who was second in the league in 2025, had only 65 RBI, creating a large gap between the numbers of the players in second place and below.

Why did individual and team performances show different trends?

As we have seen, the numbers left by players in the top 10 for Home Run and RBI have generally been declining, while the performance of players in the top 10 for batting average has generally improved. Another interesting factor is that the batting performance of the league as a whole has generally been increasing.

To consider the reasons for this, let's dig deeper into Home Run and RBI figures. The number of players who hit double-digit Home Run increased from 13 in 2024 to 18 in 2025. In 2025, the number of players who hit the top Home Run in the league tended to decrease, but it appears that more players were able to hit a certain number of Home Run.

Looking at the number of players who recorded 50 or more RBI, there was not much difference between 12 in 2024 and 11 in 2025. Expanding the scope of observation to include players who recorded 30 or more RBI, the number increased from 35 in 2024 to 42 in 2025.

This season, there have been many cases where key players from each team have had fewer appearances due to injury or poor performance, but these numbers show that the players who took their place have been able to produce numbers above a certain level. Given these circumstances, it seems that even if the number of Home Run and RBI recorded by individual players has been on a slight downward trend, the league's overall hitting power is improving.

Will league-wide hitting performance continue to improve next season, or will it show a different trend?

Only one player reached the required number of at-bats and recorded a batting average of .300 or higher for two consecutive years, indicating a clear trend toward pitching being stronger and batting being weaker over the past two years. Meanwhile, league-wide statistics such as hit, Home Run, and runs scored all showed increases in 2025, suggesting that more players are adapting to pitcher that are becoming increasingly skilled each year.

Will this trend continue into next season and the league's overall batting performance continue to improve, or will it show a different trend from this season? By continuing to look at both the performance of individual players and the performance of the league as a whole, we will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the trends of the league as a whole.
