On August 4, in the first round of the farm regular season Orix Buffaloes against Oisix Niigata held in Sugimotoshoji Buffaloes Stadium Maishima, Orix Buffaloes narrowly lost 5-6.

In the first inning, hit by the leadoff batter Masahiro Nishino and the sacrifice bunt by the second batter Koji Oshiro, creating a chance, and then the third batter Seymour hit hit a timely hit to give the team the lead. With one out and bases loaded, Yusuke Mugitani hit a sacrifice fly.

Starting pitcher Kyosuke Saito pitcher received support. hitter closer the first round perfectly, but in the top of the fourth, two timely hits tied the game. In the top of the fifth, with one out and bases loaded in trouble, Yodai Okawa hit a two-run single with two outs, giving the team the lead. However, in the bottom of the fifth, with two outs and a runner on first, Oshiro hit his first two-run homer to left field. They brought the score back to 4-4.

However, in the top of the sixth, pitcher Saito couldn't hold on. With runners on first and second and no outs, Reo Asai gave up a go-ahead RBI single and was substituted. The second pitcher, Reiji Higashiyama pitcher, who came in with runners on second and third and no outs, gave up sacrifice fly, and the game was back in a 4-6 chase.

Orix Buffaloes held on and the lineup held firm. In the bottom of the sixth, Haruto Mikata and Mugitani hit consecutive hits to put runners on second and third with one out, and Seiya Yokoyama scored a run with a timely hit. In the bottom of the eighth, Haruto Mikata and Mugitani hit back-to-back hits, but none of them hit the decisive hit. Orix Buffaloes lost by one run, marking their second straight loss. Starter pitcher Saito suffered his first loss of the season with a 7 hit 3 Walk 5 strike out 6 runs in the sixth inning. The batting lineup was dominated by Mugitani with 2 hit 1 RBI 2 stolen base, and Nishi-fielder’s choice te and Mikata with 2 hit.
