​Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Leo Shibata pitchers made their first relief appearance of the season. They connected the first inning without runs.

He entered as the third pitcher in the top of the 7th inning with a two-run lead. Leadoff pitcher Akira Kawase got struck out swinging with a high fastball, then Takashi Umino jammed it with a fastball inside and grounded it to second. He then gave Walk to Tomoya Masaki, but in this game, Ukyo Shuto hit At Bat 3-3 grounded out to second and ended the game with no runs.

In his second season, Shibata started in two games for both. Both teams had recorded hit in every inning through six innings in this game; although they gave up Walk, they responded with hit pitching in tense situations.
