Pacific League Seibu 1-4 Softbank (27th, Belluna Dome)
Softbank Hawks president Yoshimitsu Goto has stated that manager Hiroki Kokubo will continue in his position next season.
After winning the league for the second consecutive year and for the 23rd time (including twice during the one-league era), he responded to questions from the press, saying, "Of course, that's the policy (to continue next season). Why change the manager who won the championship? (laughs) We also have to do our best. The front side is responsible for building the team the manager is aiming for, and that's what we're supposed to do. We'll do our best."
