Pacific League Lotte vs. Rakuten (31st, Tokyo Dome)
Lotte held the "Gungho Special Night," a game sponsored by Gungho Online Entertainment Inc. ("Gungho") against Rakuten on March 31, and Kazuya Ninomiya, the image character of Gungho's smartphone game "Pazudora" and currently appearing in a TV commercial, threw out the first pitch.
When he went up to mound in the number 23 uniform, he showed off a no-bounce pitch from his left arm and received loud applause. After leaving the game, he said, "I was nervous because I was in a different position and environment than usual, but it was great that I was able to practice before that. 100 points! I thought about what to do if I went to a ridiculous place, but I was able to throw happily," he said, playing a big role and showing a relieved expression.
Regarding the view of Tokyo Dome from mound, he said, "It felt different from usual, which is natural since it's baseball, but it was quite refreshing for me to see all the spectators sitting down. I grew up surrounded by fans and penlights, so being in an environment that isn't like that actually helps me see a lot more. It was a rare opportunity to be able to be seen by the players." It seemed to be a valuable experience.
