◆ Pacific League Rakuten 4-1 Seibu (3rd, Rakuten Mobile)
Third-year right-hander Haruto Yamada made his professional debut. He pitched in the seventh inning, allowing hit to the first batter, Kofukuda, but got the next batters to ground out to the pitcher, first baseman, and second baseman, and got through the inning without runs. "I was nervous. I think I was able to show my strengths with the three ground-outs," he said.
While at Omi, he won a total of 11 games at Koshien, but he had no experience in the first team for the past two years. "My first goal is to establish myself in the first team, so I want closer well and be able to play even in the middle of inning," he vowed.
