On 23 February, Saitama Seibu and Lotte Giants played a practice match at Nango Stadium, where Saitama Seibu win 6-5.

Saitama Seibu loaded the bases in the first inning with Shinya Hasegawa leading off the inning with a Walk. He then stole second and third to put runners on third and third with one out, and scored on a grounder to infield. But starter Bo Takahashi pitcher was pinch-hit in the top of the second inning with one out and bases loaded on a triple hit and was caught out by a pitch Hit by Pitch. In the bottom of the fifth, Takayoshi Yamamura loaded the bases with two outs on a hit and Walk, and an RBI single by Keisuke Nakata cut the lead to three.

​Shinya Sugai pitcher, who moved up to mound in the fourth, loaded the bottom of the fourth with a Walk and two outs bases loaded, but the next two inning showed a pitch and walked mound with no hit runs. From the 7th inning, Mitsunari Takahashi pitcher took the mound. He made an error in the top of the seventh inning and put on a runner in the top of the eighth with a 3-hit to put the game on his back, but he was able to break the deadlock and closer the second inning without runs.

In the top of the ninth inning with a three-run lead, Lopez pitcher was on second base with one out in the Walk and gave up two runs on an error by his teammates, but he struck out the double play next two batters to end the game. Saitama Seibu win 6-5, with Nevin and Takayoshi Yamamura playing two hit innings, and the pitcher continued to use three pitcher in the starting rotation until the eighth inning, with pitcher Sugai and pitcher Takahashi closer multiple inning runs.
