Ace pitcher Hiromi Ito had another successful season, reaching the required number of complete games for the fifth consecutive year with complete game league-leading 6.

Shoma Kanemura pitched a complete game shutout game at the start of the season, but switched to a relief role midway through the season.

In a three-game series against Tohoku Rakuten Eagles from July 19th to 21st, he struck out three batters in three consecutive days, his first time pitching three consecutive games.
