As the cheerleading and performance teams of the six Pacific League teams begin recruiting new members for 2026, Pacific League Insight interviewed members currently active as performers for each team.

What kind of scenery awaits those who pass the audition and become members? Also, what thoughts have arisen through their activities?

This time, MIKU from M☆Splash!!, the official cheer performer for Chiba Lotte Marines will be appearing. This season marks her second year with the team, and we spoke to her about the struggles she faced as a rookie and what she values when working as a member of M☆Splash!!

M☆Splash!!, which is celebrating its 22nd year since its formation this year, is a group of cheer performers who support The Marines together with fans and liven up the stadium through dance performances and performances on ground. In 2025, the group, which consisted of 23 members, brought excitement to Zozo Marine Stadium at The Marines home games with powerful and well-coordinated performances that showcased each member's high level of dance skill.

Why did MIKU audition for M☆Splash!!?

"Ever since I decided I wanted to work in cheer dancing, which I had been doing since I was a child, my goal was to become a cheer performer for a professional baseball. I was particularly drawn to M☆Splash!!'s sharp and polished performance, as well as their MC and hospitality attitude, so I decided to audition for them."

After passing the 2024 audition and becoming a member, MIKU said that once the group actually began activities, she "realized the importance of adaptability as a performer."

"The set list for the dance show, our positions on the field, and ground all change for each match, so I was surprised at how much more adaptability was required than I had imagined. Also, we had to learn highly difficult dance moves in a short amount of time, so at first it was all I could do just to keep up with the lessons. I really struggled to memorize the choreography for so many songs at the same time."

Although he revealed the struggles he faced at the time, he reflected on his rookie days, saying, "I was able to overcome it thanks to the support of my fellow members. That experience is still an unforgettable and precious memory."

Currently, M☆Splash!! is accepting auditions for members for 2026. MIKU, who works as a "professional baseball performer," said that she is looking forward to working with M☆Splash!!

He says that what he values is "conveying the appeal of Chiba Lotte Marines through performances so that more people will know about them. Also, having a cheering spirit and enjoying myself while providing hospitality so that people who come to the stadium will think, 'I'm glad I came' and 'It was fun.' Furthermore, he says that he continues to have a desire to improve so that he can always deliver good performances."

Regarding what he feels is the best part of his job,

"I think the best part is being able to deliver energy directly to tens of thousands of fans on the huge stage of professional baseball. The moment when the entire venue becomes one with our performance and cheers and smiles spread is an experience you can't get anywhere else," he said.

Finally, we asked what future members should keep in mind.

"I would be happy if you continue to cherish your desire to support Chiba Lotte Marines, to liven up the stadium with your performances, and to grow together with your teammates."
