Rakuten pitcher Takahiro Norimoto announced on the 11th that he would be exercising his overseas free agent rights. In an interview after the fall practice that began on the same day, he explained, "Given my age, it's highly likely that this will be my last free agent (rights). I want to make the most of my baseball career without any regrets."

Norimoto will acquire free agent rights overseas in 2023. This year was the final year of his seven-year contract, meaning he will be able to negotiate with all teams in Japan and the majors.
