Nippon-Ham Fighters' Mannami, who was removed from the roster on September 27th due to back pain, joined first-team practice at ESCON on the 6th. He ran sprints, played catch, and practiced outfield drills, and said with a cheerful expression, "I'm in great spirits. I'm not bad at anything, and I had a great time in Kamagaya (the second-team). More than anything, I had fun. I felt that Kamagaya was a great environment. The weather was great, and the best thing was that I was able to play baseball to my heart's content."
The slugger, who has hit 20 Home Run this season, the second most on the team, has his sights set on the short-term battle that begins on the 11th, saying, "Nothing is evaluated other than winning. It's very important not to forget the desire to win no matter what. It's difficult to score against a good pitcher without hitting a long ball. I want to fight with the idea that home run are the ideal way to advance at least one base in mind."
