Lotte's first-round draft pick, Misho Nishikawa, played in 108 games this season, his first year as a professional, recording a batting average of .281, Home Run, 37 RBI, and doble.
After completing his first year, Nishikawa reflected, "It was a tough start at the beginning, but with the support of many people I think I managed to achieve some results in my own way. If I had to say one thing, I would say that I wanted to end the last game on a good note, but I wasn't able to finish it on a good note, and I think that's something I can still improve on, so I'd like to train with a strong sense of responsibility during the off-season so that I can achieve even better results next season than this year."
He reached the required number of at-bats for the season in his second at-bat in the final game of the season against Softbank on the 5th. "Of course I'm happy about that. I definitely wouldn't have reached this number on my own, so I'm grateful to the players around me who gave me five at-bats."
The team is hoping that Nishikawa will become the first player to win the Rookie of the Year award since Ayumu Ishikawa in 2014. Nishikawa said, "I've come this far hoping that I've done my best and the results will follow, so I hope that this will be something to look forward to."
