On the 5th, Lotte finished their regular season games at their home stadium, Zozo Marine Stadium, and held a ceremony to mark the final game of the season.

Manager Yoshii Masato, who will retire at the end of this season, spoke on behalf of the team, saying, "As you saw in the video earlier, I am truly sorry for causing distress to our fans this season. I am also truly sorry for causing distress to our staff, coaches, and players. The results are all my responsibility. I really wanted to play a little longer, but today I am stepping down as manager."

"Talking about this sort of thing makes me feel nostalgic, so I played for three seasons, and each season had its own color. This season we were last, but it was a really fun three years," he recalled. "This year in particular we had many young players achieve their professional firsts, and I was looking forward to seeing them. Kimura had his first win and his first shutout game, and although he's not here, Yoshikawa also had his professional first, and Hiroike also won. On the batter side, Yamamoto and Misho Nishikawa hit their first home run. Nishikawa, Fujiwara, and Terachi also reached the required number of at-bats. I was really happy."

"Also, it was really fun that Tomosugi hit home run before Yasuda. Sorry, that was inappropriate," he said jokingly.

"I thought I wasn't very popular with The Marines fans, but I'm truly grateful that you cheered for me so much until the very end. To all the players, I have nothing but hope for you. Have high hopes for your potential and do your best next season. Finally, I would like to take responsibility for our disappointing performance this season and express my apologies and gratitude for your cheering until the very end. Thank you very much," he said, ending his speech by expressing his gratitude to the fans and players.
