On May 15, in the ninth round of Farm regular season Chiba Lotte Marines vs. Tohoku Rakuten Eagles held in Lotte Urawa Baseball Stadium, Tohoku Rakuten Eagles won convincingly 3-0.

In the top of the fifth, Tohoku Rakuten Eagles took the lead with one out and a runner on third on doble by leadoff player Takaya Tanaka, and then grounded out to infield by Soshi Yoshino. In the top of the ninth, McCuscar, Akira Shigenaga, and Taiga Shimahara hit three consecutive hits to add valuable runs.

Starting pitcher Takayuki Kishi pitcher threw struck out three consecutive batters in the bottom of the third, throwing 109 pitches over 7 innings with 4 hit, 1 Walk, 8 strike out no runs, and so on. Takuma Makazawa pitcher, who came in as the second pitcher in the bottom of the eighth, retired all three batters in order, including two strike out in the first inning. In the bottom of the ninth, with a three-run lead, Naoki Hihata pitcher closed out the game with no runs and recorded his ninth save.

Meanwhile, Chiba Lotte Marines advanced runner into scoring position but failed to score a single point. Starter Yuki Karakawa pitcher pitched 95 pitches over 7 innings, pitching 4 hit 3 Walk 8 strike out 1 runs.
