As Saitama Seibu Lions enters the final day of spring training, players and managers look back on this year's training camp.

On the final day of camp, Nakazo Yuta hit a great sound. He was working on his final batting practice. He swung the bat and the ball went high into right field. It continued to fly and went over the fence.

Manaya Nishikawa showed off some great defense. During batting practice, the ball flew to center fielder, but he made a graceful sliding catch, drawing applause from ground. Last season, Nishikawa won his first title, the Mitsui Golden Glove Award. It looks like he'll be able to inspire his defense with another great defensive display this year.

Saitama Seibu Lions has just finished its spring training camp. Players Association Executive Officer Takuya Hiruma gave the closing remarks. He expressed his gratitude for the environment and how he was able to dedicate himself to practice with the team slogan "Breakthrough" in mind, and expressed his determination to see the team through as one.

Draft pick number one rookie, Taiga Kojima, spoke about his first exhibition game held yesterday. Kojima, who was paired with pitcher Shinya Sugai as his battery partner, looked relieved that he was able to calmly closer the opposing team. He also touched upon the high level of professional baseball and said that he wants to learn techniques from senior catcher and improve his skills.

Manager Fumiya Nishiguchi summarized the training camp. Regarding the batting lineup, which is often cited as a weakness each year, he said that the addition of players like Masayuki Kuwahara and Kazunari Ishii has created a strong sense of competition among the players, and he also expressed high expectations for Seiya Watanabe, who has been converted to third baseman. On the other hand, he said he is looking forward to the growth and competition of the young pitcher, and finally, he expressed his determination to show the fans a style baseball where they win by hitting, as stated in this year's slogan.
