Chiba Lotte Marines 's Naoya Masuda pitcher became the fifth player in NPB history to reach 250 career saves.

Although they took the lead in the first inning, Kyota Fujiwara hit a timely hit and Ryusei Ogawa hit their first two-run homer to take the lead, and in the top of the ninth, with a two-run lead, pitcher Masuda advanced to the mound. He got the leadoff player Seiya Watanabe on a grounder and retired the following Shuta Tonosaki with just one pitch. Finally, he hit Junichiro Kishi to fly out to right at a fastball of 151 km/h, becoming the fifth player in NPB history to reach 250 career saves.

He joined the Chiba Lotte Marines as the 4th pick in the 2011 draft from Kansai International University. In 2012, he set rookie records with 72 games and 41 hold, and in 2013, he recorded 33 saves to win the saves title. He continued to support the bullpen mainly as a setup man, and from 2019 onward, he became the closer in earnest. He accumulated saves, winning his second save title with 38 saves in 2021 and setting a new team record with 228 career saves in 2024.
