The 2026 World Baseball Classic™ concluded on March 18th with Venezuela's long-awaited first championship victory. Regardless of the outcome, home run runs by some of the tournament's top sluggers added excitement to the event. Here are the top 5 longest-hit Home Run runs out of the 106 hit in the tournament.
*All times are in Japan Standard Time.
A top MLB hitter and a 25-year-old slugger from South Korea make the list.
Shohei Ohtani (Japan) and Kyle Schwarber (USA), two of the contenders for the National League's Home Run King last season, tied for fifth place at 427 feet (130.2 meters).
Of the 3 Home Run Ohtani has hit so far this tournament, the longest was his "first hitter hit back" against Venezuela on March 15. Ranger Suarez pitcher, the starter for the opposing team, threw a perfect fourth pitch, and the ball was sucked into the right-field stands.
Ohtani ran across the diamond, looking back at the bench. He changed the atmosphere of the stadium at once.
Note that this is the first time in WBC history that both teams' leading hitter bullets have been produced. Moreover, both were the 2018 MLB Rookie of the Year and the 2023 League MVP, making it a historic arch-rivalry.
Schwarber hit his first home run of the tournament in the bottom of the 5th inning against Great Britain on August 8, 1-1, from third base with one out. count He swung an inside fastball pitch from 2-1, and it soared high and into the upper reaches of the Daikin Park light stand. The first time I saw him, he was a very good player, and he was a very good player.
He was the only player to play at No. 1 hitter that day and recorded a 2 hit 2 RBI. In the other six games, he played the fourth position and led the lineup with a .320 batting average (25 At Bat 8 hit) and OPS of .909. Last season, the powerful hitter showed his ability by winning the Home Run and RBI double crowns.
In fourth place is the home run hit by South Korea's Moon Bo-kyung in the game against the Czech Republic on the 5th. In the bottom of the first inning, the South Korean lineup created an immediate opportunity with hit by Lee Jung-hoo and two Walk, loading the bases with one bases loaded. The young slugger stepped up to the plate in this golden opportunity. He didn't miss slider that came in high, and swung hard, sending the ball soaring to the side of the backstop at Tokyo Dome. The first bases loaded slam of the tournament recorded a distance of 428 feet (approximately 130.5 meters).
He then hit a timely RBI single in his fourth at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning, finishing the first game with two hit and five RBI.
Moon's spectacular goal also ranked third. It came in the match against Australia on the 9th, a game that would determine whether Japan advanced to the next round.
In the top of the second inning, with no outs and a runner on first base, Moon hit a ball that flew deep into the right-center field stands. This 430-foot (approximately 131.1-meter) home run gave South Korea momentum, and win 7-2. With Chinese Taipei and Australia tied at 2 wins and 2 losses, South Korea had runs average and advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2009.
Moon, who played a key role in the team's success, recorded 11 RBI in 5 games, including two "moonshots." This puts him in line with Fernando Tatis Jr. (Dominican Republic) for the top spot in the tournament.
In the final game, the MLB superstar, a two-time MVP and eight-time All-Star, hit a massive 432-foot (approximately 131.7-meter) game-tying two-run homer.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, with the score 0-2 and two outs and a runner on first base, Bryce pitcher (USA) perfectly timed the second pitch from Andrés Machado (Venezuela), who had pitched a runs relief performance in the previous five games, and smashed it over the center field wall.
Prior to the game, Harper was struggling with a batting average of .167, but he hit his long-awaited first Home Run in the final. Although they immediately conceded the lead again and Venezuela won the championship, it was a home run that will surely remain in the memories of many baseball fans.
And the biggest home run of the tournament was hit by O'Neill Cruz (Dominican Republic).

The 450-foot (137.2-meter) Home Run was born in a game against Nicaragua on August 7. The ball was hit with two outs and runners at second and third in the bottom of the eighth inning as a substitute, and went straight into the upper right field bleachers at an astonishing 116.8 mph (about 188 km/h), an arch typical of Cruz, who has recorded the highest velocity in the MLB for two consecutive years since 2024.
In this year's tournament, Cruz fired 2 Home Run, and the Dominican Republic posted a team total of 15 Home Run, surpassing the previous record of 14 Home Run set by Mexico in 2009 and the most in WBC history.
hitter We can already look forward to seeing many more "baseball spectaculars" at the next and subsequent international competitions, such as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
