Venezuela took the lead in the top of the third inning with sacrifice fly by Michael Garcia. In the top of the fifth inning, looking to extend their lead, Wilyer Abreu hit a solo home run to center fielder. The crucial second run was scored, and the players jumped out of the dugout in excitement.
