Saitama Seibu Lions 's pitcher Shinya Sugai delivered an excellent performance, allowing no hit and no runs over four innings.

He got off to an excellent start, retiring the first three batters in order, and continued pitch without allowing a single runner until the top of the third inning. In the top of the fourth inning, runner Walk no outs, but he shut down the subsequent batters and left mound after four innings with no hit, one Walk, three strike out no runs.

Last season, pitcher Sugai made 11 appearances and recorded 5 wins, but his performance declined after the summer, and he failed to secure a regular spot on the first team. The question is whether he can contribute to the team as a part of the rotation from the start of this season.
