center fielder 's defense saved the team many times

This season, Nishikawa played in 124 games, posting career-high numbers in all areas with a batting average of .264, 10 Home Run 38 RBI, and 25 stolen base. In addition to his hitting, he also contributed to the team at a high level with defense in center fielder. This time, we'll be looking at two plays that saved the team from difficult situations.

First, on June 10th. With the team trailing by two runs in the top of the fourth inning, with two outs and a runner on second base, Hanshin Tigers 's Nakano Takumu hit a ball to left-center field. Nishikawa, who was playing slightly forward, ran straight to left field and dove to grab the ball. This prevented the team from scoring any additional runs and halted the opponent's offensive momentum. The team then went on to score four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the lead. Nishikawa himself also recorded two hit.

Next up was the game against Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters on September 15th. With the score tied in the bottom of the third inning, and runners on first and third with two outs, Nishikawa once again made a big play. The ball was hit low and slightly to the right of center fielder, but he made a diving catch. It was a play that showed his courage to dive to the very edge and his strength in not letting go of the ball.

Nishikawa has made great strides as a dependable leadoff man, with his center fielder speed and strong shoulders. Next season, with the addition of Yokohama DeNA's Masayuki Kuwahara player and the strengthening of the outfield lineup, will he be able to achieve even better results? We are looking forward to seeing him next season.
