Today, Friday, December 19th, Orix Buffaloes... Kenya Wakatsuki Let's look back at the three walk-off hits made by the players.
Three walk-off hits at home
The opening game of the 2025 Pacific League League season. Orix Buffaloes, playing at home against Tohoku Rakuten Eagles, took a 2-0 lead, but Rakuten tied the game 2-2 in the top of the 9th inning. In the bottom of the 9th inning, with two outs and a runner on second base, Wakatsuki hit a ball that broke through left-center field! Pinch runner Yusuke Mugitani scored the walk-off run, and his teammates went wild in celebration. The hero who brought win to the opening game was quickly drenched.
Next up is the fourth game Hokkaido Nippon-Ham on April 18th. With the score tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning, with one out and runners on first and second, Wakatsuki hit the first pitch high. The ball flew over center fielder 's head, and second base runner Keita Nakagawa easily scored. Don't miss the scene pitcher Alen Kuri, who pitched runs and allowed only one run in the ninth inning, running over to Wakatsuki.
The third home run was on May 20th, in the fifth game Chiba Lotte Marines. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Wakatsuki stepped up to the plate as the leadoff hitter and swung the second pitch with all his might, sending the ball straight into the fifth deck! He sealed the game with a massive home run and was showered with cheers.
On Monday the 22nd, we will introduce the milestone save of Orix Buffaloes pitcher Yoshihisa Hirano.
