On June 9, in the first round of the 'Nippon Life Central-Pacific League Interleague 2026' between Orix Buffaloes and Tokyo Yakult held in Kyocera Dome Osaka, Orix Buffaloes came from behind to walk-off win 4-3, ending their losing streak at '5'.
In the bottom of the second inning, with one out, Keita Nakagawa players hit doble and Walk to first and second runners, and Shota Hiranuma hit a timely hit to take the lead. The starting Alen Kuri pitcher closer the first two inning each to retire three batters in order. He continued to pitch tenaciously from the third inning onward, but in the top of the sixth, with a one-run lead, doble and a teammate's error allowed runners on first and third, allowing one out and runners on first and third, and gave up a game-tying hit from player Yoshihiro Akabane. He pitched 114 pitches in 6 innings, 4 hit 1 Walk, 8 strike out 1 runs to leave the mound.
In the top of the 7th, the second pitcher, Naruki Teranishi pitcher, came in but gave up a timely hit from Ryuyo Takeoka, allowing the team to take the lead. Kosei Yoshida pitcher, who came in from two outs and runners on third, also gave Santana a timely doble, leading to a two-run chase.
From the 8th inning onward, the 2nd inning was connected by Ryusei Gonda pitcher without runs, waiting for the lineup to rally. Then, in the bottom of the ninth, with one out and runners on first and second, Keita Nakagawa hit a timely hit to lead by one run. Then, pinch hitter Yutaro Sugimoto hit walk-off, ending the game 4-3. The Orix Buffaloes that delivered a dramatic win saw pitcher Gonda claim his first win of the season.
