Fukuoka Softbank announced two new projects as part of the "FUKUOKA OH SADAHARU LEGACY PROJECT," which aims to pass on Sadaharu Oh's legacy with the Fukuoka The Hawks to the next generation.

The first project is the creation of a "wall art" piece that embodies the history and spirit of The Hawks. A giant wall art piece will be newly installed on the first floor of the outer perimeter of MIZUHO PayPay Dome FUKUOKA, symbolizing the history and spirit of The Hawks' home stadium. Artist Tadaomi Shibuya will be in charge of the creation, depicting Sadaharu Oh and other players who built The Hawks' history in Fukuoka. The creation is scheduled to take about a month, starting on March 21st (Saturday). Visitors can see the creation process as they pass by, allowing them to enjoy the process of its completion as well.

The second initiative is the holding of a special exhibition. The "Sadaharu Oh Baseball Museum Supported by Hakata Green Hotel," located on the 4th floor of BOSS E・ZO FUKUOKA adjacent to MIZUHO PayPay Dome, will host a special exhibition titled "The Fukuoka The Hawks Built with Sadaharu Oh: The Inherited Teachings of Sadaharu Oh" from April 14th (Tuesday) in its exhibition area. Through special interviews with Sadaharu Oh himself, CBO Kenji Johjima, Koji Akiyama, Kimiyasu Kudo, manager Hiroki Kokubo, and player Yuki Yanagita, the exhibition will visualize Sadaharu Oh's teachings and the history of The Hawks built in Fukuoka. Other initiatives will be announced sequentially.

This initiative aims to pass on the "The Hawks culture," which has been built up over the years by successive players, staff, and the local community that have supported professional baseball in Fukuoka, with Sadaharu Oh as its symbol, not merely as a record or memory of the past, but as a "regional legacy (cultural heritage)" that can be received and passed down to the next generation. The project will work to establish the history and ideals that Sadaharu Oh and the players have pioneered in Fukuoka as part of Fukuoka's sports culture, while also working in cooperation with local governments, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a system that allows children and young people to naturally experience baseball and sports culture.
